Whether you’re cruising along bike trails in Niagara Falls or exploring the vast history of Niagara-on-the-Lake by bike, safety comes first. Wearing a helmet is crucial for cyclists, especially for those under 18 as it’s legally required. Ensuring your helmet fits properly and meets safety standards is essential for protection. For expert assistance with fitting, visit a local bike shop. Additionally, wearing reflective gear like vests, armbands, or bright-coloured clothing helps cyclists remain visible to others on the trails or roads. In Ontario, cyclists are also required to have a bell or horn, lights, and reflectors on their bikes, including white lights in the front and red lights or reflectors at the back for nighttime riding, along with reflective tape on the front and rear forks.
